New /share command

PartyChat is pretty good place to share and talk about links you come across. To make it even easier, we've added a /share url [annotation] command. This command looks up the title of the web page at url and then broadcasts it to the entire party chat, optionally with an annotation.

In other PartyChat news, the source has moved to Project Hosting on Google Code. Among other things this means that there are lots of feeds for keeping up with PartyChat development.

  1. Have you guys considered implementing some sort of op status like IRC? We're running a partychat and have several lurkers that haven't spoken in up to a year. Being able to kick them would be great.

  2. not sure this is right place to post but ...

I am trying to talk to partychat1@gmail.com using my google apps gtalk account (i.e. anton[at]mostovoy.net) and not getting any response at all.

however, using my gmail account, everything is working fine.

    Is this a known issue?
    Thanks!

  3. Actually, after i logged into the gmail ui, and added contact there it start working for a short while.

However, after a few messages, no more messages come through.

I stood up my own instance of partychat and have the same issue.

Any ideas what could cause this?

    Thanks!

  4. After a few minutes of inactivity, new messages start coming through, and then stop again. It appears the there is a rate limit somewhere.
Also interesting is that when i am not getting the messages, I do get 'stopped typing' notifications (my client shows them to me).

    Halp!

  5. Anton: We highly recommend that you use the @partych.at addresses - @gmail suffers from (as you guessed) rate limiting

  6. Thanks for the response!
I am having trouble with partych.at also.

I invited partychat2,3 and 8 but have not gotten authorized, so they are appearing offline.
